A tale of four life-long buddies coming of age in the ethnic boroughs of New York City. Four friends leave suburban Westchester behind and move in together, in a run-down basement apartment in the Bronx. Each of the protagonists faces unexpected challenges in this new environment. The wrestler succumbs to the pressure of his buddies, which makes him unable to compete; the baseball player might not have what it takes to make it in the minors; the wannabe mobster tries to prove himself to his demanding father; and the artist gets into a personal and professional relationship with an upstairs neighbor despite their age difference.
