Synopsis

A coming-of-age drama about Jari, a 25-year-old musician from rural Michigan who comes to New York and earns money as a subway busker playing the violin. Jari has pinned his hopes on an upcoming audition for a prestigious music school but, in the meantime, must earn a living playing "on the Q.T." -- busker slang for the downtime between trains when travelers and player alike can hear the music. Eventually, a wise, old soul takes him under the wing for life lessons as well as music tutelage, enabling him to muster the necessary aplomb to negotiate his initial encounters wiht the rarified strata of the professional music world. And a famous singer-songwriter who heard Jari play lures him into a torrid affair.
