Alien: Covenant, Chuck and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul make Tanner's What to Watch weekend preview

This weekend in theatres, we have Alien: Covenant, Chuck and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.

Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant is finally out this weekend!

The sci-fi horror flick is the sequel to Prometheus, continuing the story of the android David (played by Michael Fassbender) and what alien terrors he unleashes on a colonist crew that unexpectedly show up to his new home planet. It's sure to be full of amazing special effects, making this is a must-see in IMAX or 4DX if you're in Toronto!

Next up we have Chuck! He was the pride of Bayonne, N.J., a man who went 15 rounds in the ring with Muhammad Ali. But before all of that, Chuck Wepner (played by Liev Schreiber) was a liquor salesman and father with a modest prizefighting career whose life changed overnight when, in 1975, he was chosen to take on Ali in a highly publicized title match. It's the beginning of a wild ride through the exhilarating highs and humbling lows of sudden fame, but what happens when your 15 minutes in the spotlight are up? Naomi Watts, Ron Pearlman and Jim Gaffigan round out the rest of this great cast.

In Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, a Heffley family road trip to attend Meemaw's 90th birthday party goes hilariously off course thanks to Greg's newest scheme to get to a video gaming convention. Based on one of the best-selling book series of all time, this family cross-country adventure turns into an experience the Heffleys will never forget. A must see with the entire family!
