Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alien trailers and more make our weekly round-up

Check out our weekly round-up featuring this week's most buzz-worthy movie news!

Table 19

It's your modern day/grown-up Breakfast Club with the upcoming film, Table 19.

Eloise (Anna Kendrick) is invited to a wedding where her ex-boyfriend (who dumped her) is the best man. The average person wouldn’t still go to the wedding…but Eloise is anything but average. Placed at table 19 way in the back, Eloise and her new “table-mates” realize they’re the pity invites and form a misfit bond.

Lisa Kudrow, Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Stephen Merchant, and Wyatt Russell join Kendrick at the dreaded table 19.

Table 19 opens in Cineplex theatres March 3rd - Watch the featurette below:

Beauty and the Beast

Emma Watson is further proving that she is perfect for the role of Belle in the live-action remake of the 1991 Disney animated film. From the costume, to her sweet voice, Watson is a spitting image of the animated Belle - minus the whole animated part - and the nostalgia is off the charts!

This live-action adaption from the 1991 Disney animated film follows the same story-line, has the same iconic music, and brings our favourite characters to life, but we bet there will be some new surprises as well!

Beauty and the Beast hits Cineplex theatres March 17th - Watch the new featurettes below:

Alien: Covenant

Directed by Ridley Scott, the highly anticipated sequel to Prometheus brings back Michael Fassbender and a new space crew who discover an uncharted paradise, with a threat beyond their imagination, and must attempt a harrowing escape. Hmm...I wonder what that threat is??

Besides Fassbender returning, the movie also has a new cast including: James Franco, Danny McBride and Billy Crudup.

Watch this one with the lights on and mark your calenders when Alien: Covenant hits Cineplex theatres May 19th. And if you're in Toronto, check it out in 4DX!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

The long awaited sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides follows Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) on his quest for the Trident of Poseidon, which gives the holder complete control of the seas. But evil ghost pirate Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) - who lost everything due to Jack Sparrow - is out for Jack's blood and vows to kill anybody who gets in his way.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sails into Cineplex theatres May 26th - Watch the new trailer below:

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

The new trailer shows Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), and our personal favourite, Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), facing off against a new enemy looking to cleanse the universe - and (hopefully) saving the galaxy again, with Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) along for the ride.

This trailer shows more action-packed adventure, laced with the dry wit, sarcastic humor, and heartwarming camaraderie that we've come to expect from this franchise. And we finally get to see Peter Quill's dad, played by Kurt Russell! Will he play a role in helping to save the universe, or will he turn out to be more of a threat than an ally? We don't know, but we cannot wait to find out!

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives in Cineplex theatres on May 5th. Watch the new trailer below:

Mary Poppins Returns

Set 25 years after the original 1964 film, Jane and Michael Banks are older - along with their children - but are left numb and devastated after a family tragedy strikes. Trapped in a hole of deep unhappiness, Mary Poppins visits the Banks family (who she used to nanny for) in hopes to get the family's spirit back and bright!

Emily Blunt will star as Mary Poppins, with Colin Firth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Meryl Streep and Angela Lansbury joining her.
